Well said! In the ‘90s a drag show wasn’t a big thing in the U.S. south, then relocating to Nottingham UK, as you mentioned the tv is hilarious and filled with drag characters, and other oddballs. Leave it to America to have a cult launch a global conservative movement of hate to end the world.
Indeed, it is not Christianity, which is supposed to be loving and inclusive. It is simply classic fascism to target and exclude people who are a little different, like racial minorities and LGBTQ+. The more visibly different someone is, the more they are targeted by fascists and presented as a threat to conformity and worker obedience.
Jonathan, I just found your posts today and I’m crazy about you! I am a neighbor to your not very far south (Maine). I’m inspired by everything I’ve seen so far and I don’t understand why you don’t have 1000’s of followers. I became absolutely delighted by drag queens when I first watched The Adventures of Priscilla, (also deeply saddened by the hate towards them) and recently a drag queen was the presenter for my cousin’s retirement from her university professorship. She was lovely and hysterical! Thank you for sharing your experience of growing up watching Dame Edna. I don’t get why they are afraid of drag queens and LGBTQ folks. They may have met trans people but didn’t know it. How stupid to be so hateful.
Thank You Anna! I am just getting started on this app and your encouragement means alot to me. Indeed, drag queens have been popular as far back as I can remember, until now, with the fascists targeting them. We need to protect our bravest and most vulnerable. ❤️🏳️⚧️
